What’s in Store: Bean Affair expands to Snac Shac at Parkpoint
Bean Affair, Healdsburg’s popular coffee shop at the north end of town, has opened a satellite concession inside Parkpoint Health Club.
La Marion Spence of the soon-to-open Sonoma County Juice Company was in negotiations with a vendor to offer fresh juices at the club. When that vendor withdrew, he asked Michelle Fair, owner of Bean Affair Coffee and More, if she might be interested.
“The Snac Shac is a manifestation of the friendship between the two of us and the partnership between Sonoma County Juice Company and Bean Affair,” said Spence.
Bean Affair is a meeting place for a number of groups in town. From weekly bridge and knitting groups, to once-a-month literary readings, Fair is known for welcoming groups to use the space for community projects.
“A lot of our customers also use Parkpoint,” said Fair. “We’re not going to get rich, but we’ll be more visible in the community.”
The Snac Shac at Parkpoint is a “grab and go” concession. It offers chips, nuts, granola, smoothies, iced coffees and blended lattes, along with protein shakes, panini and salads. Minimum prep will take place on site.
Fair employed three people to staff the concession.
The Snac Shac is open seven days a week, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The hours may be reduced in the fall.
It also offers a happy hour with wine served 5-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, focusing on downtown Healdsburg wineries that are family owned.
The concession, located at 195 Foss Creek Circle, is open to the public. For more information, call 395-0177.
