Event Spotlight: Zucchini Festival at Healdsburg Farmers’ Market
The Healdsburg Farmers’ Market holds the annual Zucchini Festival Saturday, August 9, from 8:30-10:30 a.m.
Prizes will go to winners of the zucchini car races and to giant zucchini.
- 8:30-9:30 a.m.: Registration for the Giant Zucchini competition and Zucchini Car Races.
- 9:40: Giant Zucchini winners announced.
- 9:50: Most Creative Zucchini Car winners announced.
- 10:00 a.m. Zucchini Car Races begin.
Race cars must be made of real zucchini squash. The squash is the vehicle and the axles must be inserted through the squash. Axles may be made of wood, metal, vegetable or plastic materials. The width of the track is 11 inches and the car must be no wider than the track to run.
Giant Zucchinis must be grown by the entrant to be eligible for the competition.
