‘Coffee in the Courtyard’ at Healdsburg Library
Coffee in the Millie Howie Courtyard located behind the Sonoma County Wine Library is an on-going library event. Friends of the Healdsburg Library’s next “Coffee in the Courtyard” will be 10 – 11 a.m., Thursday, July 26.
The Friends want the community to help launch the newly refurbished and beautified outdoor reading room and they promise coffee, pastries and “literate badinage” at the event.
“It is now an attractive welcoming space to be used by the community. The Library intends to have it open to the public in the afternoons during the summer months, as well,” said Rebecca Goodsell, president of the Friends of the Healdsburg Library.
The pastries are provided by the Downtown Bakery and the coffee supplied by Taylor Maid Farms Organic Coffee. Barristas will be on hand to pour.
Last Saturday, July 20, the courtyard was dedicated to Millie Howie, wine writer and long-time Sonoma County Wine Library supporter, who passed away in 2011.
The Healdsburg Regional Library is located at 139 Piper St. and the courtyard is on the corner of Piper and Johnson streets. The “Coffee in the Courtyard” events will continue on the fourth Thursday of each month during good weather.
