Teaching kids baseball in Healdsburg
Healdsburg Parks & Recreation will have two leagues this spring to teach the game of baseball to youths.
For four-and-five-year-olds, it’s tee ball and for ages six-and-seven, it’s rookie ball.
Registration is open for both leagues and the cost is $65 with assistance available.
Play runs through the months of April and May.
To sign up, visit healdsburgparksandrec.org or call 431-3301.
Tee ball will be played at Fitch Mountain School with rookie ball at Foss Creek School.
Games will be played on Saturdays with tee ballers practicing on Wednesdays and rookies practicing on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
In tee ball, the focus will be on learning to throw, catch, hit from a tee and run the bases.
In rookie ball, players will have the opportunity to swing at a pitch while continuing to work on basic skills.
Parent volunteer coaches needed and no experience is necessary.
