Barndiva short a finalist in food film fest
A short film written and produced by Barndiva’s Jil Hales has been nominated in a competition for the best food film sponsored by food and wine magazine Saveur.
The film, which Hales first posted on her restaurant’s blog last June, is part of an effort by Hales to showcase the journey food takes from seed to table.
The editors of Saveur went through thousands of submissions to pick finalists in five categories: Ultra-Short Form, How-To and Recipe, Documentary, Animation/Experimental and Culinary Travel. Among the judges are chef Mario Batali, actor Andrew McCarthy and food writer Ruth Reichl. “Eat the View” was among five films chosen as finalists for best documentary.
Winners will be chosen by the panel of judges and online voters. You can log on and vote for your favorite film on Saveur’s website.
