Local writer gets down and muddy on Saturday
Healdsburg writer Scott Keneally stirred up controversy last month in Outside magazine with a cover story about the origins of Tough Mudder, a grueling 10-12 mile muddy obstacle course that challenges racers with a series of events.
The story raised questions about the company that produces those races and generated headlines in the Huffington Post and Daily Mail. Keneally said his story also is being adapted for a segment on a major national news program.
Keneally’s humorous first-person account of running in a Tough Mudder was published in The Bohemian. At 5 p.m. Saturday, he will be sharing his experiences with a talk called “Tough Mudder Hates Me” at Garagiste Healdsburg, 439 Healdsburg Ave. Admission is free.
