The Hand Fan Museum, the only one in the U.S., presents Fans — A Family Affair, featuring fans from the collection of Betty Minaker, Fifth Annual American Fan Collector for 2012. The exhibit’s grand opening is  5-7 p.m. Sunday at the museum, 219 Healdsburg Ave., with a luncheon honoring Minaker at noon Monday at the Hotel Healdsburg. She will give a talk about her fans and how she got them. Tickets: $25. RSVP to Liz Keeley, 484-6438. A vintage fan sale will follow at the museum.

Nov. 14

Business After Hours and Healdsburg Young Professionals & Entrepreneurs are sponsoring a joint mixer from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Williamson Wines, 134 Matheson St.  Bring potential Chamber members you would like to introduce.  For info: 433-6935.

The Center Literacy Cafe presents Word Pirates from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at 133 Matheson St. The dynamic, edgy group of professional writers from the Bay Area includes Ken Weaver, Laura Cochrane, Kara Vernor, Morgan Elliott, Marcia Simmons, Joy Lanzendorfer and poet Sharon Fain. Nov. 17-18

The Raven Performing Arts Theater’s classical music orchestra, Philharmonia Healdsburg, will perform Antonio Vivaldi’s best-known work, “The Four Seasons,” featuring violinist is Roy Malan. The production also includes Edvarg Grieg’s “Holberg Suite” and JS Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto No. 3.” This marks the first in this season’s 3-program series. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Raven Performing Arts Theater, 115 North St.  It will be directed by Les Pfutzenreuter, who has led the Ukiah Symphony for more than 20 years. Philharmonia Healdsburg consists of 35-40 professional musicians from across Northern California. Advance tickets are available at Copperfield’s Books in Healdsburg (cash/check only) and online at raventheater.org. Ticket prices are $25, $10 for students.
