Race alert: Wine Country Half Marathon is tomorrow
Nearly 2,500 runners in this year’s Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon will follow a new course, starting in downtown Geyserville and running over Canyon Road before following West Dry Creek and Dry Creek Roads into downtown Healdsburg for the finish next to City Hall on Grove Street.
They’ll be greeted by a post-race Wine and Music Festival, with exhibitors, food, beer, wine tasting, a costume contest, face painting and pumpkin decoration for kids, and the Unauthorized Rolling Stones band.
The half marathon is sold out, but spots still remain for the new three-mile Parkpoint Hallowine Run, which starts at Wilson Winery on Dry Creek Road and follows the last portion of the race course. Register for it at runhealdsburg.com or at the Race Expo, held 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Hyatt Vineyard Creek in Santa Rosa.
The race is produced by Destination Races of Sonoma and benefits Girls of the Run of Sonoma County, Sunshine Rotary Club of Healdsburg, Native Sons of the Golden West and athletics programs at Maria Carrillo, Healdsburg, Elsie Allen and Geyserville high schools.
